‘Though a dinner of nicely prepared and presented fresh fish with a crisp glass of wine can be very good at Mt. Adams Fish House, the major draw remains its sushi bar; while other restaurants in town now can rival the Fish House’s offerings, none are as fun and as welcoming. Here, a seat at the sushi bar means you get the full attention of the owner, Chanaka Delanerolle, and his attentive staff. And the sushi chefs appear to be having as much fun as you.’

‘Order up the basics – cucumber and tuna maki (rolls), barbecued eel, salmon or bluefin tuna. But do try anything from the usually extensive list of specials, which showcase the chefs’ creativity. Hand rolls with curious combinations or elaborate concoctions of showy ingredients like lobster or scallop are delightful. The chefs take extra care in arranging your order; artists are at work.’

‘The wine list offers many choices to weave around the seafood – but this is sake country. Try a couple of different varieties.’
